Ethelene E. Daniels, 88, a resident at Brewster Parke, Ohio, former Beach City, Ohio, resident 58 years, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, following Alzheimer’s problems.
She was born at Huttonsville, the daughter of the late Conley and Della Murphy Simmons.
Ethelene was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School at Mill Creek. A homemaker, she was a member of the United Methodist Church, Pythian Sisters, American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer for American Red Cross all of Beach City, Ohio. She loved flowers, quilting, crocheting, taking pictures, cooking/canning and playing guitar with brothers and sisters and playing on Elkins radio with cousin Woody Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Daniels on May 30, 2004; one son, Richard Yokum; siblings, Lionel, Jennings, Arley, Evelyn, Arlene and Geneva.
Surviving are two sons, David (Joyce) Yokum of Sterling Park, Va., and Ronald Daniels of Beach City, Ohio; one daughter Carmel (Jeff) Norris of Navarre, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Paula Yokum of Poolesville, Va., one brother, Russell Simmons of Dailey; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ethelene’s life will be conducted Thursday, March 21, at 11 a.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City, Ohio, with Pastor Orion Aubihl officiating. Interment will be made in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City, Ohio. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
