Kester Knight

Kester Earl Knight, 83, of Sevierville, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 28, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Earl Knight; brother, Jerl Knight; and his parents, Birdsell and Ethel Knight.

Kester was the son of a West Virginia coal miner and was born in Barberton, Ohio. He served his country as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army for a military police company stationed in Japan.

Kester worked for more than 33 years for the Ford Motor Co. and then retired to the mountains of West Virginia to be near his father. He enjoyed his mountain home and neighbors, and loved playing cards with his family and friends.

Survivors include sisters, Patty Phillips and Peggy Hoxworth and husband, Dean; brothers, Jimmie Knight and wife, Catherine, Lee Knight and wife, Pat, Henry Knight and wife, Sue, and Stanley Knight and former wife, Helen Rose; children, Debra Adams and husband, Ricky, Steven Knight, Tim Knight and Teresa Neugebauer; grandchildren, Amber Adams, Alexis Adams, Tucker Adams, Brandi Mason and Michael Neugebauer; great-grandchildren, Caleb Mason, Conner Mason, John Carter Mason and Dalton Neugebauer; and several nieces and nephews

Special thanks to the good Lord’s servants at Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home. During his time at Fort Sanders, Johnathan Ogle truly was his best friend.
