Mr. Theodore Stellman Lambert, 83, a resident of the Poe Run Community, Elkins, passed away Friday afternoon, April 26, 2013, at his home. His death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born Feb. 11, 1930, at Wymer, a son of the late Stellman and Laura Belle Davis Lambert.
He was twice married, first to Gertrude Marie Eiden Lambert, who preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 1968. On March 8, 1969, he was married to Sharon Clark Lambert, who survives. They had celebrated 44 years of marriage. Also surviving is one sister, Lillian Borders of Columbus, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were four brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Lambert was a veteran of the United States Army, having obtained the rank of sergeant and served during the Korean War in Germany for eight years. He worked as a limestone crusher forman for Kermit Butcher Construction until his retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of HW Daniels Post 29 American Legion.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery, where presentation of the American Flag will be made by members of the WV National Guard Honor Program and HW Daniels Post 29 American Legion.
