Mr. Jackson L. “Jack” Corley, 81, a resident of Belington departed life Saturday evening May 18, 2013, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown following a period of declining health.
He was born March 2, 1932, at Junior, a son of the late Willis E. and Cleo (Row) Corley.
On June 29, 1957, at Oakland, Md., he was united in marriage to the former Charlotte Ann Golden, who preceded him in death on August 26, 2001.
He is survived by one son, Shawn Corley and wife, Stephanie, of Belington.
Also surviving are one granddaughter, Morgan Watson of Texas; one step granddaughter, Carly Ash of Belington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Max, Dewayne and Bill Corley; and one sister, Frances Scott. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Corley attended the schools of Barbour County and formerly employed by Barbour Coal Company. He was last employed as a custodian at the Belington Middle School. Jack attended the Belington Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington on Tuesday, May 21 from 6 to 9 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon, the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Mike Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the K of P Cemetery at Junior. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Belington Church of Christ P.O. Box 444, Belington, WV 26250.
