Karen Ann Kittle Knaggs, 70, a resident of Elkins, departed this life late Tuesday evening, May 14, 2013 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center surrounded by her family.
She was born Thursday, Oct. 29, 1942, at Elkins, a daughter of the late George Henry and Anna Marie Daniels Kittle.
On Feb. 18, 1961, at Elkins, she was married to Alvin Keith “Sonny” Knaggs, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Michael Keith “Mike” Knaggs and wife, Stacy, of Morgantown; one daughter, Lisa Dawn Knaggs Powell of Elkins; one brother, Keith Gordon Kittle and wife, Judy, of Grayson, Ky.; one sister, Donna Jean Kittle Barger and husband, Donald, of Elkins; and four grandchildren, Tyler Paul Powell, Logan Keith Powell, Kaylee Ann Knaggs and Ayden Elyse Knaggs.
Preceding her in death was one infant brother, Shirley Dale Kittle.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1960. She was an employee of the former G.C. Murphy Co., Coca-Cola Bottling Co., and was an accountant and bookkeeper for Gabe Chabut, Hogan’s Transfer and Elkins Builders Supply Company, where she retired in 2002. She was a member of Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church, and her family was her life.
A private graveside service will be conducted in Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins with the Rev. Donald L. Fitzwater officiating. Interment will follow.
