Lottie Vistie Nestor Jones, 87, a resident of the Pifer Mountain community, Parsons, departed this life Saturday afternoon, May 18, 2013, in Cortland Acres at Thomas.

The family received friends Friday at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor today at 11 a.m. The Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate, and interment will follow in Pifer Mountain Cemetery at St. George.

Lottie Jones

Lottie Vistie Nestor Jones, 87, a resident of the Pifer Mountain community, Parsons, departed this life Saturday afternoon, May 18, 2013, in Cortland Acres at Thomas.

She was born Friday, March 26, 1926, in Tucker County, a daughter of the late John E. and Minnie J. Nestor.

On March 15, 1942, at Oakland, Md,, Redhouse, she was married to Harold French Jones, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are five sons, twins, Fred D. Jones and wife, Brenda, of Sugarlands, and Clinton G. Jones of Pifer Mountain, Loren F. Jones and wife, Bonnie, of Illinois, Allen R. Jones and wife, Carolyn, of Parsons, and Connie K. Jones of Montrose; two daughters, Narel A. Hebb and husband, Ralph, of Location, St. George and Kathy L. Stump and husband, Robert, of Pifer Mountain; one brother, Donnie Nestor of Parsons; one sister, Lora Faye Nestor and husband, Darl Kent, of Alabama; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Ira Nestor, Ellis Nestor and Dale Nestor; and two sisters, Orpha Moore and Nellie Auvil.

She attended the No. 8 one-room school at Texas Mountain. She was a CNA for the former Tucker County Hospital and a former employee of Tucker County Board of Education where she was a cook for Parsons High School. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a noted cook, gardener and loved bluegrass and gospel music.
