Nicholas Rhodes

Nicholas Wade Rhodes, 33, of Dryfork, departed this life May 18, 2013, as a result of an ATV accident.

He was born May 3, 1980, at Elkins, the son of Lawrence Melvin Rhodes and Karen Ann Bennett Rhodes, who survive in Red Creek.

On July 21, 2012, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Caitlyn Alexandra Cooper Rhodes, who survives in Dryfork, where they were anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child, a son, Ashby Wade Rhodes.

Also surviving are one sister, Katie Rhodes, and niece, Sophia Rhodes of Red Creek; a brother-in-law, Christopher Cooper, and wife, Emily; and a niece, Brookelynne Cooper and nephew, Layne Cooper, all of Whitmer. A mother-in-law, Debbie Cooper and fiance, Paul Keefover of Dryfork; a father-in-law, Andy Cooper and wife, Monica, and brother-in-law, Drew Cooper and sister-in-law, Sabryna Emswiller, all of Criders, Va.; a grandmother, Savannah Rhodes of Dryfork, as well as several family members, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by three of his grandparents, Ruth Bennett, Boss Bennett and Charlie Rhodes.

Nick worked at the windmills in Mt. Storm as a safety lead. He was also a member of Mt. Top Hunting Club. He enjoyed spending time with children, working with equipment and spending time outdoors. Some of his favorite activities included large bon fires, going camping, riding his ATV and anything having to do with a John Deere.

Friends will be received today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dryfork Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 22, at 1 p.m. at Dryfork Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mark Joseph officiating.
