Virginia Louise Reel Currence of Cassity, a more recent resident of Nella’s Nursing Home Inc., entered into eternal rest Sunday, May 12, 2013, in the emergency department of Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 3, 1956, at Elkins, to Charles “Bud” and Phyllis Kyle Reel, who preceded her in death.
On May 7, 1978, she was married to Kenneth Currence, who survives. They celebrated their 35th anniversary May 7.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Jason and wife, Danielle; and her daughter, Krista, all of Cassity. Other survivors include one brother, Charles “Bill” and wife, Marietta, of Elkins; sisters-in-law, Cindy Reel of Coalton, Beverly Wine and Cindy Hamrick of Cassity; brother-in-law, Kevin and wife, Bonnie, of Cassity; three nieces, 10 nephews, two great-nieces, and four great-nephews. She was the beloved daughter-in-law of the late Daultin Currence and Kathryn “Kate” Currence, who survives.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and father-in-law, were brothers, Richard “Dick” Reel and James “Jim” Reel; and two nephews, Kevin “Kevy” Currence II and Eric Reel.
Virginia was a graduate of Coalton High School class of 1974. She loved watching “Jeopardy” and doing word searches. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at noon Thursday, May 16, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Stella Faye Moyer officiating. Interment will follow in Rowan Memorial Cemetery near Mabie.
