Gregory Lee

Gregory Glenn Lee, 53, a resident of Coalton, departed this life late Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, surrounded by his family. Death was attributed to complications of a massive heart attack.

The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 p.m. today. At 7 p.m. today, at the funeral home, a prayer service will be recited by the Rev. Mr. Raymond G. Godwin. On Saturday, June 29, Greg will be moved to Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at Coalton where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. The Very Rev. Donald X. Higgs, VF will be the Presider, and interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery at Kingsville.

Gregory Glenn Lee, 53, a resident of Coalton, departed this life late Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, surrounded by his family. Death was attributed to complications of a massive heart attack.

He was born Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1959, at Elkins, a son of Glenn Earl and Louise Phyllis Stanton Lee, who survive in Norton.

On July 17, 2004, at Orange, Va., he was married to the former Victoria “Vickie” Aliff, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Bradley Lee Burruss and wife, Melissa, of Culpepper, Va.; one daughter, Tabatha Ann Wayts and husband, Travis, of Stuarts Draft, Va.; one brother, Michael Joseph Lee and wife, Beverly, and son, Justin, of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister, Felicia Lee Hendon and husband, Bobby, and daughter, Haylee Marie Bennett, of Norton; two grandsons, Jacob Andrew Aliff and Jackson Lee Burruss; two granddaughters, Kaylynn Wayts and Jameson Leigh Burruss; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Richard and Jessie Mae Aliff; brother-in-law, Charles Richard Aliff Jr.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Blankenship, all of Stafford, Va.; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and his dog, “Dozer.”

He was a graduate of the Coalton Twelve-Year School with the class of 1977, where he was a member of the basketball team and catcher for the baseball team, of which he was a lettered athlete in both sports. He was an avid reader, a collector of various interests and enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, camping, hunting and music.

He was a member of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at Coalton and delivered food for Catholic Charities every Thursday.
