Jackie Ford

Jackie L. Ford, 76, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in United Hospital Center.

He was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Hilbert “Doc” and Ona G. Linger Ford.

On April 25, 1959, he married Margie L. Alexander, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Deborah Cvechko and husband, Mark, of Buckhannon; two sons, Jeffrey C. Ford and wife, Susan, and Scott Ford, both of Buckhannon; three stepgranddaughters, Kara Parsons and husband, Joe, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Kristy Cvechko of Vietnam and Lauren Cvechko of Buckhannon; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Natalie Parsons of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and one sister, Dorothy Luce and husband, Fred, of Jefferson, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie LaBelle.

Jack served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961. He was a member of Buckhannon Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, a member of Tallmansville Baptist Church and retired from the city of Buckhannon water department after 33 years as a supervisor.

Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Friday, June 14, from 5 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Heavner Cemetery. Upshur County Honor Guard will provide military honors at the graveside.
