William Jobie Lantz, 75, of Wellington Heights, passed away June 16, 2013.
Jobie was born June 20, 1937, to the late William Junior Lantz and Lucy Pitman Lantz.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Wagner Lantz. They were married June 22, 1958.
He is survived by one son, Gregory Lantz, (Lorretta) of Kearneysville; one daughter, Rebecca Baisi (Gary) of Gerrardstown; and three grandchildren, Pamela Lantz of Oak Hill, Michael Lantz of Silver Spring, Md., and Kaitlyn Baisi of Gerrardstown. Also surviving are siblings, Myrtle (Dale) Nestor of Beallsville, Md., Paul (Sandy) Lantz of Belington, Jerry (Jeni) Lantz of Philippi and Judith (Robert) Arbogast of Belington.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Michael, Charles and Winfield “Sam” Lantz.
Jobie graduated from Philippi High School in 1955, and was a member of Barbour Church of Christ. Jobie was a retired carpenter, who enjoyed spending time on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army, Engineer Division, from Sept. 25, 1961 to Sept. 24, 1963. He was honorably discharged.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St. in Philippi today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 19, from 8 to 11 a.m., the service hour with Evangelist Warren Kenny of Martinsburg presiding. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
