Annabelle Yocum, 91, of Route 1, Philippi, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in Mansfield Place, Philippi, following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 1, 1922, at Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Franklin Carroll and the late Abby Virginia Sprouse Carroll Weekley.
On May 25, 1939, she married Sherwood Noel Yocum, who preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1990.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Carol Riffle and Tammy Kay Beohm, both of Philippi; six sons, Thomas Leon Yocum of Belington, Lindsey Noel Yocum, Chalmer Yocum and wife, Patty, and Joseph Watkins and wife, Cami, all of Philippi, James Edward “Jack” Yocum, Center Point and Paul Franklin Yocum and wife, Diane, of Volga; one brother, Hollis Weekley of Moundsville; one sister, Mary Ellen Weekley of Philippi; and 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grand- children and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, “Delores” Bowen and an infant daughter, Alice Yocum; by one sister, Betty Weekley; by three brothers, Leon Weekley, John Weekley and Jack Weekley; and by her stepfather, Ruble Weekley.
Mrs. Yocum was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, from Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 S. Main St. in Philippi. The Rev. Robert Sisler will officiate, and interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
Friends called at the funeral home Thursday and may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, Saturday.
