Brandon Lewis George, 14, of Buckhannon, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the home of his grandmother Violet Hodges, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Feb. 3, 1999, in Morgantown, a son of Mark and Candy Hodges George of Buckhannon.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Corbin George; maternal grandmother, Violet Williams Hodges; paternal grandparents, Don and Sharon Kay Crawford George of Buckhannon; paternal great-grandmother, Alma Thompson Crawford of Kingsville; aunts, Sherry (Denny) Harris, Vivian (Ernie) Payne, Kelli (Jay) Marsh, Angie George (fiance Bill Hess); several close cousins and his dog, Dusty.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Noble Hodges; uncles, Louie Hodges and James Stanley Hodges; and cousin, Jayson Payne.
Brandon was a member of the Tennerton United Methodist Church, the Boy Scouts of America Troop 100 and had completed the eighth grade at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School.
He enjoyed camping, bike riding, scouts, RC cars, restoring antique tractors, anything he would take apart and put back together, and anything Ford.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Burial will follow in the Rowan Memorial Cemetery at Mabie.
