Donald W. Sharp Sr., 84, of Arbovale, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his sons home in Arbovale. He was born Aug. 24, 1928, at Dayton, Ohio and was a son of the late Howard Russell and Maudie Goldie Knapp Sharp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Sharp; sister Edna Neff; and brothers, James, Earl, Howard, Paul, and Melvin.
Donald was a member of the Church of God, a janitor, a minister for 50-plus years and a foster grandparent for Greenbank Elementary School.
Donald loved children, to sing and play his harmonica, writing songs, and poetry.
Survivors include: three daughters, LaVonda Wattenbarger, of Santa Clarita, Calif., Wanda Wattenbarger of Neosho, Mo. and Ramona Wood of Dunmore; one son, Donald W. Sharp Jr. of Arbovale; nine grandchildren, Heidi LaDue, Christy Howard, Brigita Wattenbarger, Katrina Wattenbarger, Trenton Wattenbarger, Darren Wattenbarger, Bradley Sharp, Brandon Sharp, Shanda Sharp; and 10 great- grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Aug. 3, 2013, at the Church of God Chapel in Shawnee, Okla. with Brother Carl Schaeffer officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery on Hardesty Road in Shawnee, Okla.
