Mildred Hebb

Mildred Virginia Filler Hebb, 92, a resident of First Quality Hill, Parsons, and more recently a resident of the Chenoweth Creek Road community, Elkins, where she made her home with her daughter, Gail Cassiday, departed this life early Friday afternoon, July 5, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons today from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor, Wednesday, July 10, at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Larry Filler will officiate, and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.

Mildred Virginia Filler Hebb, 92, a resident of First Quality Hill, Parsons, and more recently a resident of the Chenoweth Creek Road Community, Elkins, where she made her home with her daughter, Gail Cassiday, departed this life early Friday afternoon, July 5, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Thursday, April 7, 1921, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Percy Falk and Edna Dove Stokes Filler.

On April 28, 1940, at Red House, Md., she was married to Robert Lee Hebb, who preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1982.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph Lee “Joe” Hebb and wife, Donna, of White Plaines, Md., Robert James “Jim” Hebb and wife, Cathy, of Parsons; one daughter, Gail Louise Cassidy and companion, Sandy of Elkins; one brother, John Edward Filler and wife, Viola, of Parsons; one sister, Margaret Marie Harlow of Parsons; and seven grandchildren, Danielle, Roberta “Bobbi”, Jeremy, David, Laura, Clare and Jimmy; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Percy Junior “Bud” and Charles Pete Filler; and three sisters, Alice Mae Collette, Edna June Felton and Ermalea Mauzy.

She attended the schools of Tucker County. She was a noted cook, she loved to sew, crochet and embroidery.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final Rites will be conducted from the funeral home parlor, Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Larry Filler will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery.
