Richard A. Polce

Mr. Richard A. Polce, 71, a resident of Elkins, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Unit. He was born Oct. 24, 1941, at Arthurdale, a son of the late Fheo and Anna Louise Antolini Polce.

He was married to Barbara Louise Tingler Polce who survives at Norton. Also surviving are: three sons, Michael A. Polce and wife, Donna, of Coalton, Mark Owen Polce, of Elkins, and Tracy L. Polce and wife, Cindy, of Jimtown; his companion of many years, Lorraine Bertran, of Elkins; a brother, Ronald L. Polce and wife, Bonnie, of Tellahoma, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Gabelman and husband, Barry, of Miami, Fla., and Cassie Marie Polce; a nephew, Greg and niece, Teresa; his “special sister,” Francis Gerard; and a stepgrandson, Jason McKelvey and family.

Mr. Polce was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 132 for many years and was a businessman in Elkins. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Harley Davidson rider. He was a member of the Moose Club, Masonic Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was known and loved by many people. At the request of the deceased, his remains were cremated. A graveside service and interment of the cremains will be announced at a later date.
