Wilmer “Darcy” Cutright, 83, of Rock Cave, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Upshur County, a son of the late Clarence F. and Rettie Linger Cutright.
On Oct. 4, 1953, he was united in marriage to Anna Gould Cutright, who survives; the couple would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in October.
Also surviving are one son, Gary W. Cutright and wife, Connie, of Rock Cave; one granddaughter, Autumn Nicole Cutright of Rock Cave; one brother, Doyle Cutright of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Creed and Dayton Cutright; an infant sister, Ester Cutright; and one stepsister, Goldie Rollins.
Mr. Cutright was a Christian by faith. He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing many instruments with family and friends and played gospel music with the Revivalaires along with other gospel groups. He was retired after 23 years of service with the Division of Highways. He especially enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War and was a life member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be conducted Saturday, July 6, at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Sue Lowther officiating. Interment will follow in Indian Camp Cemetery.
