Robert Carl Sacks, 84, of Mazomanie, Wis., passed away Aug. 25, 2013.
He was born April 6, 1929, in Fairmount.
Bob served in the military from 1945 to 1951 as a member of the 202D Military Police in Austria.
He was a life member of the Elkins Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bob worked at the Picker X-Ray Corp. in Cleveland, Ohio, for almost 40 years.
He married Eva Marthe in 1977 and lived in Richmond Heights, Ohio, until Eva’s death in 2000.
Bob moved to Wisconsin to live with his stepson and family, which included five grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed the out-of-doors and taught everyone about the different types of wood, plants and animals. Bob enjoyed long walks in the woods especially accompanied by grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his brothers, Neal, Jim and Bruce; and his sister, Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis; and brothers, Roger, John and David.
A memorial service was conducted for Bob at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio on Aug. 31. He was laid to rest next to his wife, Eva.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Meadows Nursing Home for all of their kind and compassionate care in Bob’s final days.
