Carolyn Joyce Wise Wiles, 74, a resident of Parsons, departed this life early Monday morning, Oct. 21, 2013, in Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins, with her family by her side.
She was born Friday, May 19, 1939, at Kempton, Md., a daughter of the late Boyd Lee and Audry Pricilla Sowers Wise.
On Oct. 13, 1957, at Red House, Md., she was married to Gene Calvin Wiles, who preceded her in death May 29, 1985.
Surviving are two daughters, Lesa Ann Tenney and husband, Thomas, of Kerens and Lois Ann Lipscomb and husband, Charles, of Parsons; two brothers, Richard Wise of Texas, and Jeffery “Butch” Wise and wife, Theresa, of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Amanda Plum Garrett, Wesley Herron, Charles Lipscomb, Reva Bohon, Jon Herron, Tiffany Lipscomb and Noah Lipscomb; and nine great-grandchildren, Regan, Harley, Madalyn, Paul Allen, George, Timothy, Randy, Joseph and Kragen.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Randall Troy Wiles and John Calvin Bohon.
She attended the schools of Thomas. She was an employee of the former Parsons Shoe Plant, the Bausch and Lomb Co. and retired in 2006 from the Parsons Shop N Save. She enjoyed sewing and crochet.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Thursday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate, and interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
