Dorothy Constance Gosnell, 84, of Elkins, passed away from this life at 12:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous journey with lung cancer.
Connie was born Sept. 26, 1929, in Hazleton, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles McGeehan and Anne Florence Taylor McGeehan
On May 9, 1950, she married her beloved, Morton Gosnell, and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing May 24, 2008.
Her spirit lives on in her two children, Susan Ocker and husband, David, of Summerfield Fla., and Tom Gosnell and wife, Sandy, of Elkins; one grandson, Christopher Tinley and wife, Katie, of Parrish, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Holly Tinley; her beloved siblings: Dr. James McGeehan of Michigan, John McGeehan and Richard McGeehan of Maryland, and Mary Woodard of Florida; and her dearest friend, Dee Henderson of California, whom she had known all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her eldest child, Christine Gosnell who passed in 2001.
Connie graduated from Seton High School in Baltimore, Md., in the class of 1948. She was Roman Catholic by faith. She was funny and witty and enjoyed Fox News, watching the birds and chatting with family.
Connie’s request for cremation has been honored, and her family will have a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
