L. Geraldine McDaniels, 91, of Selbyville, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at her home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Newlon, a daughter of the late Jacob Earl and Maude Gay Bragg Lewis.
She was united in marriage, on June 28, 1941, to Dixie R. McDaniels, who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2001.
She is survived by three daughters, D. LeAnna Corbett of Crestview, Fla., Sherry Radcliff and husband, Daniel, of Groveland, Fla., and Merla Page and husband, Joseph, of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Roger McDaniels and wife, Libby, of Cedar Key, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel, Leunette and Pearl.
Mrs. McDaniels was a 1940 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School and was a member of Newlon United Methodist Church where she played the organ. She was also a member of French Creek Disabled American Veterans Ladies’ Auxiliary and Beech Mountain Sportsmen’s Club.
The body will lie in state Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m., the funeral hour, at Pleasant Dale Community Church with the Rev. Jim Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Dale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pleasant Dale Community Church, in care of Norma J. Page, 9368 Alexander Rd., French Creek, WV 26218.
