Mr. Cyril James “Jim” Price Jr., 63, a resident of East Dailey, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, Sept. 29, 2013.
He was born Aug. 3, 1950, in Elkins, a son of the late Cyril James “Gabby” Price Sr. and Eileen Stokes Collett Price, who survives in East Dailey.
On Jan. 30, 1991, in Winchester, Va., he was married to Catherine Marie Martin Price, who survives at East Dailey.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas F. Lopez of Elkins and Cyril J. Price III of East Dailey; and five daughters, Lisa Lopez of Dailey, Julia Susanna Carnahan of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ashley Urso of Weston, Rebecca Ann Keharara of Huntington and Tina Marie Jack of Elkins. Seven grandchildren, Ernie Howell, Holland Pennington, Joseph Edward May, Thurman Hinkle, Katelyn, Kristin and Christian Lopez; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Sue Price of Baltimore, Md.; a beloved aunt, Janet Swecker; and two nephews, Bill Hamrick and Jeff Price also survive.
Also preceding him in death were one sister, Mary Katherine Hamrick; one brother, Ronald Lee Price; a nephew, Michael Eugene Price; paternal grandparents, Howard and Lottie Price; and maternal grandparents, Glen and Evelyn Collett.
Jim attended the Homestead Elementary School and was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School in the class of 1969. He attended Davis & Elkins College and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He received a license in the Gospel Ministry in 2011. Jim had a large extended family and church family. He loved to be with family most of all.
Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Todd Corley officiating. Cremation will follow.
