Margie M. Reed passed peacefully on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, under the loving care of Worthington Christian Village.
She was born in New Washington, Ohio, to the late William and Marie Schanzenbach.
Formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, she returned to college when her children were teenagers to become a registetered nurse.
She was integral in founding the Hospice of Richland County and was named Nurse of Hope. She later served as a hospice nurse for the city of Columbus Health Department for 15 years.
Margie found love again, sharing 21 years of marriage with her husband, Dr. Randall R. Reed, now residing in Davis and Fort Myers, Fla.
She is also survived by her sons, Mike Clinger of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Bryan (Christina) Clinger of Lansing, Mich.; daughter, Jana (Stephen) Thomas of Powell, Ohio; stepdaughter, Robin (Tom) Kalog of Davis; sisters, Wilma (James) Baum of Delaware, Ruth (Richard) Kagy of Bloomsville, Ohio, and Dorothy (Thomas) Miller of New Washington; and seven grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013.
An open house will be held immediately following the funeral service from noon to 4 p.m. at the home of Margie’s daughter, Jana Thomas, 1795 Riverstone Drive, Delaware, Ohio. Graveside services will be held at noon on Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, New Washington, Ohio.
