Willard Gene Lamb, 83, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon.
He was born Oct. 5, 1930, in Ellamore, a son of the late Strader and Goldie Shreve Lamb.
On Feb. 16, 1952, he married Loueda Mae Mills, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Ronald G. Lamb and wife, Melissia, of Buckhannon, Michael E. Lamb and wife, Karen, of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Thomas B. Lamb of Buckhannon; one daughter, Debora Russell and husband, Dwain, of Charleston; four grandsons, Derrick Lamb and wife, Jodi, of Buckhannon, Jason Lamb and wife, Jennifer, of Baltimore, Md., Riley Lamb and Corey Riffle, both of Buckhannon; six granddaughters, Lindsey Russell-Shindle and husband, Joshua, of South Charleston, Leigh Ann Russell of Huntersville, N.C., Jennifer Gundel and husband, Mark, of Clearwater, Fla., Ali Lamb of Safety Harbor, and Addison and Selena Lamb, both of Buckhannon; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Clifford Lamb and wife, Pat, of Waynesborough, Va.; one sister, Linda Gower of Richwood; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Jean Carpenter.
Mr. Lamb was a retired postmaster of Volga. He was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge 598 and the Riverbend Golf Club.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery at Excelsior.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Upshur County Honor Guard at the graveside.
