Bernice Williams

Mrs. Bernice Marie Williams, 47, a resident of Mt. View Cemetery Road, near Junior, departed this life Thursday morning, Nov. 14, 2013, at her residence. Death was sudden and unexpected.

She was born Jan. 22, 1966, at Philippi, a daughter of the late Thomas M. Lantz and Nancy Lee Miller, who survives, along with her stepfather, Gary “Allie” Miller of Junior.

On Jan. 22, 2005, she was united in marriage to Stephen Kent Williams, who also survives at their home.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Melanie D. McDonald of Elkins and Stephanie M. Williams of Weaver; and three stepchildren, Marshal S., James L. and Lora J. Williams, all of South Carolina. Also surviving are eight siblings, Danny Bismark and wife, Anita, of Junior, Nancy L. Lantz of Junior, David C. Foy and wife, Jessica, of Belington, Bradly A. Miller of Junior, Jennifer H. Bunnell and husband, Todd, of Montrose, Isaac M. Miller of Junior, Jonah L. and Jordan A. Miller of Junior. Also surviving are her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Marshal and Bernice Williams of Weaver; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Williams attended the schools of Barbour County and was employed in the housekeeping department at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. She loved to cook, bake, garden, camp and listen to music and was a Protestant by faith.

Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, and again Monday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Johnny P. Williams II officiating. Interment will follow in the Knights of Pythias Mt. View Cemetery near Junior.
