Gladys E. Rosencrance
Gladys Evelyn Bender Rosencrance, 77, a resident of Elkins, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 16, 2013, in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Feb. 24, 1936, at Mill Creek, a daughter of the late Earnest and Florida Cogar Bender. She was married to Grover Cleveland Rosencrance, Sr., who preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1972.
Surviving is one son, Grover C. “Buddy” Rosencrance and wife, Pam, of Mill Creek; two daughters, Debra Sue Davis and husband, Jim, of Moorefield, and Dena Lou Collett and husband, Wilson, of Elkins. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Brian Collett, Jesse Davis, Nathan Collett, Elisa Rosencrance White and Melissa Nicholson; a great grandson, Dominic Bennett; and her “grand-dogs and cat,” Lexy, Finn, Callie May and Funnyface.
Gladys attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed as a paramedic with the Randolph County Emergency Squad from 1977 until 2003. She was a member of the Randolph County Democratic Committee and the Memorial Mission Church at Mill Creek.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Wednesday, Nov. 20, she will be moved to the Rivers of Living Water Ministries in Elkins where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. Gary Coffman will officiate and interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville.
