Jerry Summerfield

Jerry Wayne Summerfield, 42, a resident of Beverly, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at his home.

He was born Nov. 21, 1970, in Elkins, a son of Audra Heavener Summerfield, whom he made his home with in Beverly, and the late Johnnie W. Summerfield.

He is survived by four children, McKenzie Summerfield and husband, Brandon Everson, of Bowden and Taylor, Jonathon and Sawyer Summerfield, who reside with their mother, Jamie E. Johnson in Elkins; and one brother, Robert “Bud” Hedrick and wife, Tammy, of Chenoweth Creek; two sisters, Judy Ann Marsh and husband, Gary, of Philippi and Dorothy Warner and husband, Larry, also of Philippi; and girlfriend, Diana Simmons. Also surviving are five nieces, Brittany Hedrick-Vest and husband, Robert, of Belington, Tisha Marsh and Samantha Snider, both of Philippi, Kristen Hedrick of Elkins and Amber Koeger of Grafton; and two nephews, Clifton Ware and wife, Tessa, of Alpena and Brandon Hedrick of Philippi.

Jerry worked at McLean Rentals and Elkins Tire. He enjoyed spending time with his mother and his children and watching wrestling. He loved taking rides on back roads and around the neighborhood and had always dreamed of being a truck driver and seeing the world. “Wayne, I will miss you, Mom.”

Friends may call from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Collins officiating. Interment will follow in American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery near Elkins.
