Mrs. Levera (Hymes) Everson, 95, a resident of Beverly Pike, Belington, departed this life Dec. 20, 2013 at her residence, following a period of declining health.
She was born Feb. 2, 1918, at Junior, a daughter of the late Okey A. and Ella Belle (Row) Hymes.
She was twice married. First to Fred Sandridge, who preceded her in death; and second, on Aug. 22, 1959, she was united in marriage to Raymond Everson, who preceded her in death April 18, 1999.
She is survived by her adopted daughter, Jean Hymes of Belington; one grandson, Fred Hymes and wife, Amy, of Kinsale, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Waylon Hymes. She also is survived by one brother, Robert E. Hymes and wife, Glenda, of Belington.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Corley; and two, brothers Warren and Joe Hymes.
Mrs. Everson attended the schools of Barbour County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Belington Church of Christ.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington Sunday, Dec. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Michael Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington.
