Shirley Ann Elmer Lampkin, 70, of the Alexander Road, French Creek, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Weston.
She was born Sept. 21, 1943, in French Creek, a daughter of the late Roscoe Raymond and Anna Esteline Gillum Elmer.
She was united in marriage in North Carolina on March 18, 1961, to Ronald Roy Lampkin, who preceded her in death on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon and Margel Elmer; and one sister-in-law, Emma Jean Elmer.
She is survived by two daughters, Thalia and husband, Christopher Fisher, of Weston, and Lorraine Lampkin of French Creek; one son, Sam and wife, Vicky Lampkin, of Greensboro, N.C.; three grandchildren, Emily and Zachary Lampkin of Greensboro, and Kristen Grace Fisher of Weston; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Marylena) Russell and Mrs. Maxon (Irene) Hyre, both of French Creek; three brothers, Don Elmer of French Creek, Edward Gay and wife, Marie Elmer, of Augusta, and Ralph and wife, Clara Elmer, of French Creek; sister-in-law, Norma Elmer of French Creek; special nieces, Brenda and husband, Ronnie Alderman, Nancy Bassford and Jennifer Adams; and a large loving family of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lampkin was retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was the 2001 Values Inspired Employee of the Year.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. today at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery with Pastor Don Elmer officiating.
