Alice D. Williams, 91, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born May 5, 1922, in DuBois, Pa., a daughter of the late Merle B. and Isabelle Bleakney Dunlap.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Rush.
She is survived by two daughters, Amy Tenney and husband, Edward, of Buckhannon and Jean Anne LaRosa of Fort Myers, Fla.; one son, John M. Williams and wife, Patty, of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Stephanie Finn and husband, Travis, of Edenboro, Pa., and Morgan Jane LaRosa of Fort Myers, Fla.; two grandsons, Phillip J. Williams and wife, Kelly, of Honolulu, Hawaii, David John LaRosa of Fort Myers, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Finn of Edenboro, Pa.; and one great-grandson, Levi Finn of Edenboro, Pa.
Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon, a charter member of St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary and Buckhannon Women’s Club. She ran the YWCA Budget Shop for 30 years and received the Athenian Award for her volunteerism.
Friends will be received Friday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Bohman officiating. Burial will follow in Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
