Mr. Anthony Adams “Butch” Minke, 76, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 10, 2014, in the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center.
He was born April 17, 1937, at Cumberland, Md., a son of the late Albert T. Minke and the late Martha Marian Adams Minke.
On Feb. 5, 1966, at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Elkins, he was married to Judith Gerasco Minke, who survives in Elkins.
Also surviving is one daughter, Angela Jo Sharp and husband, Sean, of Elkins; three sister-in-laws, Sandra Jones and husband, Eugene, Janelle Judy and husband, Michael, and Janette Caplan and husband, Craig; nieces, Nora O’Brien, Kathleen Colombo, Beth Bond, Jennifer Greenlief and Lauren Walls; nephews, Johnny O’Brien, Eddie Minke, Mark Jones, Christopher Judy and Andrew Reed; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were one sister, Mary Margaret O’Brien; one brother, Albert E. Minke; one niece, Debra Abicht; and one nephew, Timothy C. Judy.
“Butch” was a two- year Veteran of the United States Army and was employed as a mechanic for 28 years for Monongahela Power Company prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church, he loved hunting, gardening and visiting the Elkins Volunteer Fire Department.
“Butch” never met a stranger and was a loving husband and father.
At his request, his remains were cremated.
