Douglas Dale Vanover, 58, of Lanesville, passed away Jan. 5, 2014, at his home.
He was born June 10, 1955, at Yeager, a son of Estel and Doris Lenora (Jackson) Vanover.
He is survived by his wife, Robin (Smith) Vanover; one son, Ryan Vanover of Lanesville; one daughter, April Vanover Ends of Mocksville, N.C.; one brother, Vernon Vanover of Oceana; and three sisters, Diana Wyatt of Parsons, Wanda (Max) Cale of Hinton and Karen Wyatt of Richmond, Va.
Mr. Vanover was employed as a surveyor for Mettiki coal mines for 34 years. Mr. Vanover enjoyed music, especially drumming.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Red Creek Bethel Church in Lanesville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Red Creek Bethel Church with the Rev. John Moyers officiating. Interment will follow in Buena Cemetery.
