Lorna Westfall Linger, 85, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, in Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon.
She was born Feb. 5, 1928, in Hampton, a daughter of the late H.S. Westfall and Clarice M. Ireland Westfall Radcliff.
On Sept. 24, 1950, she married William J. “Butch” Linger, who preceded her in death Dec. 29, 2003.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Bessie Westfall; and her nephew, Gary Westfall.
She is survived by one son, William J. Linger II and wife, Lynn Walton Linger, of Buckhannon; two grandsons, William J. Linger III and wife, Skye, of Buckhannon and Nathan Gower and wife, Melina, of Rio Rico, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Heather Gibson and husband, Bo, of Fairmont; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Garrett Westfall of McLean, Va.; two cousins, Margaret A. Walls and Robert Ireland, both of Buckhannon.
Mrs. Linger was chief operator for C&P Telephone Co. and a Methodist by faith. She was a 1945 graduate from Buckhannon-Upshur High School.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Heavner Cemetery in
