Lucille Hyre, 96, formerly of French Creek, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in Holbrook Nursing Home.
She was born June 12, 1917, in Newville, a daughter of the late Frederick Lee and Jessie L. Bright Knicely.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred N. Hyre; one sister, Gaye Phillips; and one grandson, Lee Boyce.
She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Boyce and husband, Delbert, of Buckhannon; two sons, Fred L. Hyre and wife, Evelyn, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Philip “Butch” Hyre and wife, Bonnie, of French Creek; four granddaughters, Stephanie Ocheltree of Buckhannon, Suzanne Ocheltree of Buckhannon, Kelli Thomas and husband, Jim, of Corona, Calif., and Heather Hyre of Jacksonville; two grandsons, Jeff Hyre and wife, Kellie, of Buckhannon and Jason Hyre and wife, Annette, of Rock Cave; two great-granddaughters, Shanon Ocheltree and Savannah Thomas; four great-grandsons, Dalton Hyre, Mason Hyre, Briston Hyre and Luke Hyre; one sister, Ruby Siron and husband, June, of Rock Cave; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hyre was a Methodist by faith.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. in Newville Cemetery with Pastor Keith Francis officiating.
