Wilda Clark

Wilda A. Clark, 95, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, in Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon.

She was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late James Garfield and Martha Miles Wilfong.

On July 9, 1937, she married Ray William Clark, who preceded her in death Jan. 23, 1993.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter and one sister, Irene Hall.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Long and husband, Patrick, of Buckhannon and Charlotte Dugar and husband, Jim, of Newark, Del.; three granddaughters, Kara Hall and husband, Duane, of Bear, Del., Kelly Moran of Matthews, N.C., and Jessica Long of Huntington; three grandsons, Todd Dugar and wife, Jill, of Middletown, Del., James Long and wife, Sarah, of Charleston and Jonah Long and wife, Terri, of Hermitage, Pa.; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jo Wilfong Booth and husband, Wayne, of Callabash, N.C., Sue Wilfong Gum of Traverse City, Mich., and Jeanne Wilfong Ours and husband, David, of Ashburn, Va.; two brothers, Karl Wilfong and wife, Roberta, of Biloxi, Miss., and James Wilfong and wife, Fran, of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Clark was a member of First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon and Teter Community Educational Outreach Society. Wilda was a store keeper. She loved to laugh, shop, dance, bake and garden. Many will remember her for her famous chocolate pie. Wilda was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Friends will be received Friday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor David Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
