Consuella Whiteman

Consuella Katherine Albright Whiteman, 84, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Valentines Personal Care Home at Elkins.

She was born Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1929, at Cumberland, Md., a daughter of the late Rex Wardell and Marie Poling Albright.

On Nov. 26, 1947, at Elkins, she was married to Willard Thornton Whiteman, who preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2013. They had celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Surviving are one son, Gary Edward Whiteman and wife, Rebecca, of Elkins; one grandson, Joel Thomas Whiteman and wife, Clemence Cretaux, of Morgantown; and two nieces, Deborah Phillips and husband, Brad, of Elkins and Beverly Leighton and husband Paul, of Clive, Iowa.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death was one brother, Rex Wardell Albright Jr.

She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1948, was a homemaker and had worked as the payroll clerk for the city of Elkins for more than 26 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she taught Bible school. She was a noted cook and enjoyed knitting.
