Karen Sue Boyles, 64, of Buckhannon, the Stoney Run Road, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at her home.
She was born April 13, 1949, in Canaan.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Herbert E. and Madalene Anita Nutter DeGarmo; and brother, Charles Michael “Mike” DeGarmo.
Sue is survived by her husband of 39 years, Kenneth W. Boyles; four sisters, Catherine Marie Simons of Matthews, N.C,. Barbara Dianne Alherimi and husband, Naim Davie, of Navarre, Fla., Sharon Yvonne DeGarmo of Antioch, Calif., and Sandra Lynn Williams and husband, Ron, of Buckhannon; four brothers, James Lee DeGarmo and wife, Tina, of Virginia, Edward Francis DeGarmo and wife, Carla, of Gassaway, John A. DeGarmo and Franklin Keith “Skip” DeGarmo, both of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
She retired after 30 years as a cook with the Upshur County Board of Education
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, with the Rev. Bradley Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in Big Bend Cemetery.
