Linton Charles “Shorty” Karickhoff, 76, of Buckhannon, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
He was born May 5, 1937, in Upshur County, a son of the late Harry C. and Dora Lower Karickhoff.
On Feb. 15, 1958, he married Velma George, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Tim Karickhoff and wife, Mary, of Buckhannon and David Karickhoff of New Mexico; one grandson, Zackary Karickhoff and wife, Kim, of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Brittany Woody and husband, Daniel, of Buckhannon; one great- granddaughter, Alanis Karickhoff of Buckhannon; and one brother, Marvin Karickhoff and wife, Iris, of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Kathryn Karickhoff; and one sister, Patty Secott.
Mr. Karickhoff was Methodist by faith and worked at PPG in Nutter Fort and Badger Coal Company. He retired as an equipment operator for the Department of Highways.
Friends will be received Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
