Louise N. Gregory, 64, of Buckhannon, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon after an extended illness; her family and friends were with her.
She was born July 31, 1949, in Randolph County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David H. and Reta M. Simons Murphy; sister, Janet L. Godfrey; and three brothers, Eugene, James and Danny Murphy.
Louise is survived by her husband of 44 years, Lee Roy Gregory; two sons, Shawn K. Gregory and Marcus L. Gregory; and daughter, Ranae M. (Chester) Houston all of Buckhannon; seven grandchildren, Chester L. (Michelle) Houston, William J. Houston, Roy Mitchell Houston, Katlin Houston, Shawn K. Gregory II, Kaila M. Gregory and Kiera N. Gregory; four adopted grandchildren, Reva Kelley, Traci Kelley, Brenda Hovey and Isabella Knottingham; two great-granddaughters, Clarissa Cook and Riley Metzler; adopted great-grandson, Dominic Cook; and eight siblings, Pearl Chidester of Eden, Virgle Murphy of Eden, Jessie Anderson of Rock Cave, Pam Green of Rock Cave, Mary Peck of Buckhannon, Wilma Dilley of Heavner Grove, Ralph Murphy of Gettysburg, Pa., and Robert Murphy of Gaston, S.C.
She was a caregiver with Appalachian Community Health with the Title 19 Program and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Buckhannon.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel with Pastor Michael Tallman officiating. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery.
