Marion Sneberger

The family will receive friends at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Pickens Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 10-11 a.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father Ron Nikodem will be the Presider, and interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at Pickens.

Marion Sneberger

Marion Magdalen Steffick Sneberger, 83, a longtime resident of Helvetia, departed this life early Saturday morning, Feb. 8, 2014, at Valentine’s Personal Care Home in Beverly. She had been in declining health.

She was born Wednesday, July 23, 1930, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Steffick.

On June 26, 1954, in Clarksburg, she was married to John Edward Sneberger, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter-in-law, Teri Sneberger of Beverly; one granddaughter, Heather Danielle Sneberger of Beverly; and one great-grandson, Connor Mark Sneberger.

Her loving family consisted of three brothers, Joe, Bill and Tom Steffick.

Preceding her in death are two sons, Mark Anthony and John Joseph Sneberger.

She was a graduate of the Catholic Schools at Clarksburg and attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing at Clarksburg. For many years she tied flies for her brother’s business, Joe’s Flies, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Helvetia Farm Women’s Club and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Pickens. She enjoyed making flower arrangements, decorating, sewing, crocheting, hunting, fishing, reading books and was a noted cook. She was fond of cats and dogs and raised German Shepherds.
