Mary Josephine White Lambert, 97, a resident of Wymer and more recently a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins, departed this life early Saturday morning, Feb. 1, 2014, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins.
She was born Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1916, in Gandy, Randolph County, a daughter of the late Harper Judy White and Gertrude Mae Bodkin White Judy.
On Aug. 8, 1939, at Covington, Va., she was married to Harry Marshall Lambert, who preceded her in death April 24, 1980. They had celebrated 40 of marriage.
Surviving are one son, Wayne Marshall Lambert and wife, Pat, of Beverly; one daughter, Judy Marie Algrim and husband, Don, of Howell, Mich.; two sisters, Doris Livengood and Bonnie Lewis and, husband, Ronald, all of Cumberland, Md.; five grandchildren, Julie Lambert Judy and husband, Mike; Kevin Wayne Lambert and wife, Missy, Janet Algrim Kehr, Jason Algrim and Lisa Algrim; and five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Emma, Isaac, Garrett and and Katarina.
Preceding her in death are one son, Geary Conrad Lambert; seven brothers, Dickson Judy, Denver Judy, Dennis “Jack” Judy, Denzil Judy, William “Bill” Judy, Howard Ray Judy and James White; one sister, Dessie Judy Kidwell; and one grandson, Army Spc. Wilson Andrew Algrim.
She attended the schools of Randolph and Tucker counties, was a homemaker and attended the Lambert Mennonite Church and the Church of God. She enjoyed needlework, reading her Bible and was a noted cook.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins today from noon to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m. today, a Celebration of Life will be conducted from the funeral home. The Rev. Todd Rhodes and Gary Mininger will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
