Anita L. Corley

Mrs. Anita Lynn (Corbin) Corley, 72, a resident of S. Brandenburg Street, Belington, departed this life Saturday, March 22, 2014, at her residence. She had been in declining health but death was unexpected.

She was born Dec. 11, 1941, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Henry Junior Corbin and Wanda Marie (Ringer) Corbin.

On March 26, 1961, she was united in marriage to Steve S. Corley, who preceded her in death on March 14, 2007.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth S. Corley; one daughter, Cindy D. Coontz and husband, Tim, all of Belington; two sisters, Kathy McLean and husband, Junior, of Belington, and Robyn Allen, of Midlothian, Va.; five grandchildren, Jordon B. Corley, Mika J. Corley, Sydni D. Corley, Cori N. Coontz and Conner S. Coontz; and one great-grandchild, Zander Loudin. Also surviving are two stepgranddaughters, Amy J. Coontz and Ashley B. Coontz; one stepgreat grandson, Gunnar Coontz; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Corbin; and one granddaughter, Jessica Brittany Corley.

Mrs. Corley was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1959 and was a homemaker. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her canine companion, Markey. She was a Methodist by faith.

There will be a graveside service at the Fraternal Cemetery at Belington on Tuesday March 25, 2014, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Judy Flynn officiating. Internment will then follow.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to Animal Friends of Barbour County, RR 2 Box 23A, Belington, WV 26250.
