David Lawrence “Lerch” Hosey, 57, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life late Sunday evening, March 16, 2014, at home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be conducted at Randolph Funeral Home Friday, March 21, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Richard and Robert Shreves will officiate and interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens.

David Lawrence Hosey, 57, a resident of Beverly, formerly of Niagara Falls, N.Y., passed peacefully from this life late Sunday evening, March 16, 2014, at home surrounded by family.

David was born Dec. 23, 1956, in North Tonawanda, N.Y., the son of the late Lawrence Hosey of Beverly and Sarah Louise (Crispin) Hosey, who resides in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

David was a longtime employee of Hazmat in Buffalo, N.Y., and Kenmore, N.Y. He was also employed as a welder, carpenter and auto mechanic at various locations, including Myle’s Auto Reclaim. He loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors and taking Sunday drives. David was a truthful and honest person. He loved spending time with and helping family and friends that crossed his path. David was a great brother and father figure to his brother, sisters and family. David will be greatly missed by all.

Left to cherish David’s memory are his wife, Christina (Belin) Hosey of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; three children, Kiana, Aron and Christopher Hosey; one stepson, James (Jennifer) Belin of Buffalo, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Jamir Presley and Da’Shanti Hosey, all of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; seven sisters, Mary Hosey, Roxie Covington, Margo (Gerald) Lindsey and Beth Hosey, all of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Diana Garcia of Medina, Darla (Charles) Adams of Hollywood, Md., and Tangee Houston of Pittsburgh, Calif.; and one brother, Benjie Houston of Seaside, Calif. Also surviving are many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. But most of all, his near and dear cousin, Terry “Bubby” Hosey. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Rambo.

Visitation will be conducted at Randolph Funeral Home, 100 Meadow Lane, Valley Bend, WV Friday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Richard and Robert Shreves will officiate. Lerch was born Saturday, Dec. 23, 1956, in Tonawanda, N.Y., a son of the late Lawrence Hosey and Sarah Louise Crispin Hosey, who survives in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Left to cherish David’s memory are his wife, Christina Hosey; four children, James Belin and wife, Jennifer, Kiana Hosey, Aron Hosey and Christopher Hosey; seven sisters, Mary Hosey, Diana Garcia, Roxie Coventing, Margo Lindsey and husband Gerald, Darla Adams and husband, Charles, Beth Hosey, Tangee Houston and Benjie Houston; two grandchildren, Da’Shanti Hosey and Jamir Presley; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. But most of all, his near and dear cousin, Terry “Bubby” Hosey.

Lerch was raised in Beverly until his pre-teen years. He then lived in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and worked at HAZMAT until moving back to Beverly in 2008.
