Alease G. Redman, 95, transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal resting place Sunday, April 13, 2014, in Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home, Keyser. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age.
She was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Elkins, and was the daughter of the late George Daugherty and Sylvia (Belle) Daugherty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Redman; her siblings, Harry J. Daugherty, Leslie Lee Daugherty, Taylor Daugherty and Goldie Watkins; and stepchildren, Dorothy Twyman of Piedmont and June Ward of Trenton, N.J.
She attended Riverside High School in Elkins. She moved to Davis upon her marriage to Robert Redman and lived there for more than 30 years before moving to Glen White, where she remained until 2011. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church of Glen White.
Alease is survived by her stepchildren, Doris Green of Piedmont and Roger Redman of Washington, D.C.; numerous grandchildren; her niece Darlene McGilberry; special friends, Rue Hairston and Teresa Brown; and her neighbors of Glen White.
The family will receive friends at Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont Friday, April 18, from 11 a.m. until noon. A funeral service will be conducted at noon at the funeral home with Bishop Henderson Wheeler officiating. Entombment with services will be Tuesday, April 22, at noon in Blue Ridge Memorial Garden in Beckley with the Rev. Onnie Cook officiating.
