Mary Charlene Vandevender, 90, died at her home on April 12, 2014.
She was born Nov. 20, 1923, at Circleville to the late Kennie Andress Adams and the late Peachie Mae White Judy.
She was married to William Mackie Vandevender on Feb. 2, 1946.
She was a member of Thornwood Community Church and was a member of the Ladies VFW.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mackie Vandevender; her brothers, Thomas Guy Judy and Jack Adams; and grandchildren, April Lynn Newbrough and Brian Edward Vandevender, and Caden Luther Vandevender Kesler.
She is survived by six sons and three daughters, Dale Lee Harper (Shirley), William Charles Vandevender (Mary Ann), Judy Mae Greer (Freddie), David Lynn Vandevender (Donna), Judith Kay Newbrough (Frederick), Daniel Thomas Vandevender, Dallas Eugene Vandevender (Elsie), JoAnn Rae Gilardi (Michael) and Douglas Phay Vandevender (Amy); 28 grandchildren, Sandra Ann Waldron (Randy), Mark Dale Harper (Tammy), Aleisha Ann Morgan (Larry), Travis William Vandevender, Judy Jeanette Arnett (Larry), Mary Marcella Rexrode (Kenneth), Ava Anne Shrader, David Lynn Vandevender Jr. (Angela) Joseph Lee Vandevender (Michele), William Berlin Vandevender (Jeanne), Frederick Ray Newbrough II (Theresa), Melissa Kay Chrislip (Gary), Thomas Lee Vandevender (Miranda), Misty Lynn Teter (Jeremy), Dallas Eugene Vandevender, Lana Marie Gear (Billy), Jessica Joelle Feathers (Marc), Tasha Lynn Vandevender (Brian); 23 great-grandchildren, Alexander and Adrianna Waldron, Brianna, Austin and Alivia Morgan, Nadine, Jolene, Olivia, Marcus, and Brian Vandevender, Ryan Douglas, Austin DeHaven, Kathryn, Jonathan, Jason, Mason, Ryan, and Jackson Newbrough, Timothy and Ashley Hayes, Jon’Casey Macias, Sabrina Currence, Coty Rexrode and Cory Rexrode (Aleisha); two great-great grandchildren, Landyn Dale Rexrode and Delcio Jon’ Macias.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Thornwood Community Church at Thornwood.
Burial will follow in the Vandevender Cemetery at Thornwood.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the Thornwood Community Church.
