Osie Maye Campbell Moore
Osie Maye Campbell Moore, 95, of Buckhannon, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Holbrook Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 19, 1918, in Buckhannon. Preceding her in death are her parents, Oliver and Delilah Dilly Mitchell; three husbands, Howard Campbell, Kyer Cowger and Carmen Moore; daughter, Darleen C. Westfall; three brothers and seven sisters.
Osie is survived by her daughters, Lois LaFontaine of Buckhannon; Carol Ochs of Woodbridge, Va., and Tammy Campbell Moore of Buckhannon; grandchildren, Tina Tinnel, Brian LaFontaine, Howie LaFontaine, Kim Hollen, Christy Duarte and Jacob Ochs; five great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.
She was the founder of the YWCA in Buckhannon, a homemaker and a member of the Living Word Church of God of Buckhannon. Osie loved her family, was an avid quilter and had received many awards for her quilts, enjoyed gardening and her flower gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, with Rev. Frank Spears officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton.
