Roger Alan Hannah, 64, a well-known farmer and a resident of Gilman, departed this life Monday evening, March 31, 2014, at his home. Although he had been in declining health, his death was unexpected.
He was born Wednesday, June 15, 1949, at Clarksburg, a son of the late Porter A. and Sally Virginia Chenoweth Hannah.
On Feb. 14, 1999, he was married to the former Michele Franchesca Iaquinta, who survives.
Also surviving are one stepson, Peter Michael Mitchell of Arden; two stepdaughters, Erin Kathleen Mitchell of Austin, Texas, and Rachel Elizabeth Mitchell of Morgantown; one sister, Colleen H. Raschella and husband, Domenick, of Daleville, Va.; one nephew, John Briggs, of Charlotte, N.C.; and one niece, Hannah Briggs, of Daleville, Va.
Preceding him in death was one sister, Linda Diane Hannah.
He was a graduate of Keyser High School, attended West Virginia University, was a former coal miner at Laurel Run, and was owner and operator of the former Mountain State Dozer Co., until becoming disabled. He was a farmer, having specialized in raising hogs.
Mr. Hannah’s request for cremation was honored and a celebration of life will be conducted at a later date.
