Sharlet George

Mrs. Sharlet Louise (Nine) George, 59, a resident of Junior, departed this life Monday, April 14, 2014, in Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, following a short illness.

She was born Aug. 25, 1954, at Oakland, Md., a daughter of the late Jacob and Virginia (Watring) Nine.

She was united in marriage June 23, 1973, to Larry W. George, who survives at their home in

Junior.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy M. Knapp and husband, Will, of Belington; one son, Douglas A. George and wife, Laura, of Philippi; and two granddaughters, Haley Mallow and Jasmine George. Also surviving are seven siblings, Ruby Hershman, Richard Nine and Charles Nine, all of Moatsville, John Nine of Reedsville, Carl Nine of Montrose, Jerry Nine of Kerens and Francis Nine of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three siblings, David Nine, Virginia R. Channell and Grace Propst.

Mrs. George attended the schools of Preston County, and she was last employed at Riedboard Brothers as a seamstress. She was also a homemaker, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was Pentecostal by faith.

Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 4-9 p.m. today and again Thursday, April 17, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Hymes officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery near Belington.
