Enora C. Rohr, 94, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at her home, following a brief illness. She was born on Feb. 15, 1920, at Salt Lick in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Early Forrest and Willa Jane Lipps Waldeck. On Oct. 7, 1940, she was united in marriage to Glenn H. Rohr, who survives. The couple had been married for 73 years, 7 months, and 11 days. Also surviving is one son Rodney and wife, Frances, Rohr of Buckhannon; five grandchildren, Terrinda Currence, Rhonda Canterbury, Steven and wife, Vickie Rohr, Angela Johnson, and Robert and wife, Rita Rohr; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Anna Maude Kittle and husband, Ray, of Warren, Ohio, and Helen Zinn of St. Leonard, Md.; one brother-in-law William V. Swisher of Buckhannon; one sister-in-law Lillian Waldeck of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Rondel Glenn Rohr; four brothers, Clifford, Harry, Earl “Jake,” and William Waldeck; and two sisters, Mae Kershner and Madge Swisher.
Mrs. Rohr was a co-owner of Glenn H. Rohr Builders and Real Estate and a member of the Business and Professional Women (BPW). She was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, one and all.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, May 23, 2014, at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Helen Oates officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship IOOF Cemetery at Berlin, W.Va.
