Sandra R. Riggleman

Sandra “Susie” Ramsey Riggleman, a former resident of Valley Head, and more recently a resident of Louisville, Ky., departed this life early Thursday morning, May 15, 2014, in the Palliative Unit of Baptist Health at Louisville, Ky.

She was born at Valley Head, a daughter of the late Fred A. Ramsey and Viola Mamie Gay Ramsey Blevins.

On Nov. 27, 1998, at Louisville, Ky., she married Edsel Glenn Riggleman, who preceded her in death March 21, 2013.

Surviving are one daughter, Kimberly R. Horn and husband, C. Scott; and two grandsons, Connor M. and Cagney S. Horn, all of Louisville, Ky.; dear friends, Mardy and Charlie Sidebottom of Louisville, Ky.; one stepson, Bradley Scott Riggleman and wife, Sandy, of Bridgewater, Va.; one stepdaughter, Dana Lynn Paternoster and husband, Brian, of Hebron, Md.; and three stepgrandchildren, Shelby Reese Riggleman, Apollo and Isis Paternoster.

Preceding her in death was her stepfather, Ambrose Blevins.

Sandy moved to Louisville, Ky., at the age of 12, attended Waggener High School and was retired from Louisville Gas & Electric. She was a member of Saint Matthews United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends at Mace United Methodist Church at Mace from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21. A funeral service will be conducted at the church Wednesday at 1 p.m. Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate, and interment will follow in Mingo Cemetery at Mingo.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Music Ministry of Saint Matthews United Methodist Church, 319 Browns Lane, Louisville, KY 40207-3966. Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Sandra “Susie” Ramsey Riggleman. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
